Seeing Clearly & Find Strength in Faith

Somedays, we might feel scared or sad. We also try to find out why things happen. These things can make us feel alone and worried. But, when we believe, it makes us feel better and gives us strong help.

When we talk about how to tell others about Jesus, we need to talk about what it can cost. Did you know that in the Bible, the word for people who tell about Jesus is “martyres”? “Martyres” also means people who die for their faith.

“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12, ESV).

Since the start of the church, many people have not liked the Christian faith. The New Testament has many stories about how Christians were hurt. This still happens today. More than 300 million Christians in the world are treated badly because they believe in Jesus. They all show their faith and trust in Jesus as their hope and Savior.

In 2 Timothy, Paul talks about the hard times he went through because of his faith. He says that people who follow Jesus can also expect hard times. But he also gives us hope. Paul tells us that even though he faced many troubles, “the Lord helped me through all of them” (2 Timothy 3:11, NIV). He also says that “all Scripture is from God” and it helps us to be strong and ready to face any problems as we live by trusting in Jesus (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV).

When life is hard, faith helps us. Paul’s story shows us that even when things are tough, God is always with us. God’s words help us know what to do and make us feel better, just like a light helps us see in the dark.

Prayer:

Dear God,

Please help all your helpers everywhere today. Make them feel better when they are hurt or scared. Use them to show your love to everyone. Help us all to remember that your love is strong, even when things are hard. We believe you will save and guide us.

Amen.
